First post of 2014!

So, this is my first post of the year! Shamed. I would say "Happy New Year" but since we are now 3 months into it I think the moment has well & truly gone! So instead, ill say....I hope you had a fantastic New Years & that your 2014 is rocking hard so far!

My year didn't get off to the best of starts unfortunately, but I'm now trying to turn that around. I feel like Ive been stuck in a rut for a while now, physically & mentally. But I finally have plans in the pipeline which include moving house, doing a make-up artist course later this month & getting healthier. I started doing personal training sessions about a month ago & I'm already starting to see/feel the difference. With the help of a high protein diet, protein shakes & Rudimentals album, Ive really thrown myself into it & lifting weights is surprisingly more enjoyable than I thought it would be. I'm not sure ill ever get an impeccable body like Jodie Marsh has, but I'm certainly moving in the right direction. I'm in the process of booking a couple of holidays for later this year with my girlfriends (Ibiza & Marbella) so that's spurring me on a bit too!

Anyway, here are a collection of things I have been bloody loving of late.....

Glamglow mudmask £25/£50

I really didn't want to like this. Mostly because I'm a committed 'Lush' face mask girl. Partly because everyone & their dog is raving about it & a little bit because it is quite pricey. Its amazing. The texture, how clean & smooth my face feels afterwards, the cute packaging, the divine smell.....this is lock, stock, the ******* lot. I was a little apprehensive towards trying it due to the fact that my skin is so overly sensitive. But no irritation or redness occurred. I now *really* want to try the Glamglow Super-clearing mud mask treatment, which promises "Super sexy super radiant skin". Yes please! I bought mine from Space NK

Illamasqua Freak Scarab Extrait De Parfum £85 per 75ml

Illamasqua are fast becoming one of my favourite brands. They are certainly my most favourite recent discovery. I popped in to get a lipliner in 'Severity', cream pigment in 'Delirium' (which look super pretty together) & Hydra Veil (evening skin treatment/make-up base- fantastic stuff!) & when I went to pay I got a strong waft of this delicious scent. The description reads "A unisex Extrait De Parfum, it enchants. Captivates. Corrupts. With notes of Blood Orange, Ylang Ylang and Egyptian Jasmine and the richness of Mousse De Sax".
I describe is as sexual! Ive had so many compliments on it & it really lingers for quite some time. I'd definitely repurchase. Available from Illamasqua Selfridges and Debenhams

Unite 7 seconds condition £15.60

I always use a leave in conditioner. Because my hair is so thin it tends to tangle very easily, therefore this is an ideal post-wash spray when used in conjunction with my tangle teezer. My number 1 favourite was aways the Catwalk Tigi Fast-Fixx. That was until the buggers discontinued it (v.annoying when that happens) which, obvs, put me into panic mode. This totally lives up to the hype & is the perfect replacement. Its light, moisturizing & has a delicate fragrance. Ive wanted to try the Unite range for well over 3 years, but getting hold of it was like gold-dust here in the UK. However, I recently picked mine up from Selfridges in Birmingham & I'm delighted that they stock a full range. Ive now got my eye on the 360 Hairspray. Other favourite leave-in conditioners which I frequently use are the Ojon dry recovery moisture mist £20.50, and Uniq one coconut hair treatment £14.25 (smells amazing! If you like coconut).

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eyeliner £15

This claims to be "The best eye pencil in the industry". It probably is. Ive bought a few shades over the years & my recent purchase was 'Perversion', which is the blackest shade of black. I use it on the rims of my eyes & its fantastic. One coat does it, as opposed to 2 or 3 using the 'zero' shade I had been using, to build to this effect. Great stuff for the vamp/smokey eyes look. The flip side- its got serious staying power & requires patience/a million cotton wool pads soaked in eye make up remover to come off! I got mine from Debenhams

Here's a not-so-helpful pic (only 1 I took all night, unbelievably!) of me at the weekend wearing it, along with Urban Decay Naked Pallette Eyeshadows , MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation , Nars 'Laguna' Bronzer, Nars Blush in 'Deep Throat', Charlotte Tilbury Gold Bar Highlighter & Topshop Lipstick in 'Beguiled'.

Wildfox Couture

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this brand. Love the material, hate *most* of the slogans. But for some reason this one caught my eye whilst wandering around Selfridges. I'm glad I bought it. It feels snug & warm on & goes with everything. I know I'll wear the hell out of it & that's how I've justified the £100 price tag!

Crest 3d Whitestrips From £29.99

I had my teeth professionally whitened in 2011 & I still like to give them a "top up" every few months or so. Although I still have the original kit with the treatment & teeth moulds in, Ive also been using the Crest strips & Crest Whitening Toothpaste. Im using the Advanced Seal number/strength 4. The strips are so simple to use, just once a day (I use them before I go to bed) for 30 minutes. I have to say that it does make them a little sensitive, but not massively uncomfortably so. And it goes away after a few days. Its worth it as I feel much more confident. Although I dont particulaly like my smile, I do get complemented on it & how nice & bright my teeth are :D

The Valleys

By farrrrrr, I think this is the best show MTV have produced! I could literally watch it all day, every day. Its one of my favourite things I do with my sister. Its hilarious. I wish I had the confidence of those girls! If you haven't seen it, I fully recommend it! Its trash TV at its finest. Other TV/movies I've been loving include The Five Year Engagement (love love Jason Segel) & Ruby Sparks. They are constantly repeated on Sky at the moment! I also went to the cinema to see American Hustle & I really enjoyed it. So much so, that I immediately bought the soundtrack!

Apologies that this has taken me so long to update. But better late than never, right?! I won't leave it so long till my next post. Fo' sho'.
